Sara has been teaching for 3 years of teaching experience in a dual immersion Spanish-English program in Grand Rapids.  She taught kindergarten for one year and 3rd grade for two years, each for a year. Sara has taught and tutored middle school Spanish as well as working as a Spanish Conversation Leader and tutor at Calvin College where she graduated from in 2012. She got her B.A. in Elementary Education while specializing in Spanish and Bilingual education. In 2010 Sara studied abroad in Mexico for a month and lived in Honduras for a semester where she studied Spanish Linguistics and Latin American Cultural Studies. She also visited Guatemala and Nicaragua while studying in Honduras.

When she is not teaching or tutoring, she is spending time with family and friends. She and her husband Carlos enjoy camping, art shows, and staying home to watch Netflix with their cat Simon.
